Executive Director

Starr Rhee serves as the Executive Director of the Nashville Urban Debate League. She is a Nashville native and an alumna of NUDL. She previously worked as a public high school teacher in Washington, DC and Cambridge, MA where she taught Social Studies and coached debate. She earned her Bachelors in Government and her Masters in Education from Harvard University. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, and exploring new restaurants. 

Programming Intern 

Christine is a first-year student at Vanderbilt University studying Economics with a minor in Business. She is an alum of NUDL and James Lawson High School, who twice represented Nashville at the Urban Debate National Championships. She was selected as a finalist for National Debater of the Year. Christine also served on the Metro Nashville School Board, representing the voices of more than 80,000 students in MNPS. She is now working with NUDL to expand programming opportunities for more students across the district. 

Chair of the Board of Directors

Rob works as a finance lawyer, representing banks, direct lenders and private equity firms in complex transactions, primarily in the healthcare industry.  He also represents the Tennessee Titans in their league-wide financings. Rob is a partner at Holland & Knight, and its predecessor in Tennessee, Waller Lansden.  Rob is a native Nashvillian, former debater, and he and his wife raised his three adult children in Nashville.
