Why Debate?
Debate shaped who I am. I grew up in Mississippi and competed in high school debate with my mom as my coach, making it not just an activity but a defining part of my childhood. It taught me how to think critically, communicate confidently, and use my voice - skills that opened doors throughout my life.
I believe every student deserves that same opportunity. That's why the Nashville Urban Debate League means so much to me. I'm passionate about helping Nashville's young people build confidence and advocacy skills, regardless of their background. Supporting NUDL is my way of giving back to a program that once shaped me - and helping the next generation find their voice.
